ProTrade Steel Company Ltd. is looking for a Trading Representative. This position is responsible for the purchase and sale of commodities in the scrap metal industry. ProTrade Steel, a subsidiary of The ProTrade Group LLC, is a full service international ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal trading company.

What are the Role and Responsibilities?

The main focus is developing and maintaining relationships with scrap processors, steel producers and transportation companies. This requires contact by visitation, phone calls, and emails on a constant basis. The trader must be able to plan a travel schedule which utilizes their time efficiently. Generally, travel is required during the middle weeks of each month to help build a relationship between the trading representative and individual customers. Potentially, up to ten days each month could be spent away from home.

The first and last weeks of the month are primarily spent on the phone probing the supply as well as the demand of commodities in the forthcoming month. Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills are required to be a successful trader. As part of the scrap trading team with our offices, information is assimilated to prepare for future business. Skills are developed via a training program and continued with on the job training from experienced staff.

Mobile Equipment Technician

Toledo Shredding, LLC, a division of The ProTrade Group LLC, located in Toledo Ohio, is seeking a Mobile Equipment Technician. The Mobile Equipment Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairing, monitoring, and maintaining all Plant Mobile Equipment in the safest, most cost-effective way possible to avoid equipment downtime. This role will be responsible for a fleet of various pieces of equipment used in multiple areas throughout the site. This role will be required to effectively interact with management, operators, and contractors.

What are the Role and Responsibilities?

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain equipment, and surrounding area in good condition
  • Operate mobile equipment including, but not limited to, cranes, frontend loaders, skid steers, forklifts, yard trucks, and various pieces of mobile equipment
  • Identify equipment operating irregularities, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment systems including, but not limited to, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, track drives, differentials, electrical systems, and tire repairs
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Familiarity of electrical systems and troubleshooting basics
  • Ability to be flexible with a changing priority in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of reading and comprehending equipment manuals and procedures
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to lift, walk, stand, carry, push up to 50lbs
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Be capable of relaying details of equipment defects to Contractor Mobile Mechanics
  • Availability as needed to work on a call-out basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who are We Looking For?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-year vocational/technical degree preferred
  • 3 plus years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment and hydraulic systems
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all efforts are compliant with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Team members assist on daily shredder maintenance and repairs
  • Focus on day-to-day maintenance to meet production schedules and to ensure cost effective operations
  • Assist on preventative maintenance to improve efficiency
  • Work with other team members to maintain orderly workspace and parts/tools management
  • Evaluate and recommend replacement of equipment when necessary

Qualitifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3-5 Years in the scrap metal or relatable experience
  • Class B license preferred but not required
  • Ability to lift, move and carry heavy objects up to 80 pounds
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment
  • Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn new tasks
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
